The position is anchored in the Department of Public Health and placed within the Research Unit of General Practice, which constitutes one of the country’s strongest environments for practice‑oriented and population‑based health research.

Furthermore, the professor will be expected to:

  • Conduct research at a high international level within general practice and the primary care sector

  • Lead and further develop major research programs related to central challenges of the healthcare reform

  • Initiate new research projects and implementation research initiatives that support task‑shifting, coherence, and quality in the close‑to‑home healthcare system

  • Develop and operate national research infrastructures and cohorts

  • Participate in research training, PhD supervision, and active contribution to recruitment of researchers and talent development

  • Participate in teaching and educational development within the medical program, including responsibility for key and coordinating teaching activities

  • Collaborate and engage in dialogue with regions, municipalities, the primary care sector, and national authorities

Qualifications

  • Medical specialist in general practice with a PhD and clinical experience as a general practitioner

  • Documented strong research output and experience with obtaining and managing external funding

  • Experience with research leadership, researcher training, and practice‑oriented research

  • In‑depth understanding of the role of general practice in the future healthcare system and of implementing research in clinical practice
