At the Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy (DDEA), we are seeking a Maternity Cover Coordinator for activities within education, networking and grants. As a Coordinator, you will be an integral member of DDEA’s Secretariat carrying out your own tasks independently and working collaboratively with other Secretariat members and external experts. The position is a maternity leave cover for the period of 19 February - 31 December 2026.

DDEA is a national initiative for research and researcher training within diabetes, metabolism and classical endocrinology research fields, bringing together scientists at all career levels from universities, hospitals and life science industry in Denmark. A special purpose is to provide early-career research talents with the best opportunities to improve their knowledge, skills, and network for pursuing a career.

As an employee of DDEA, you will be part of the DDEA Secretariat, located at Odense University Hospital. You will have a central role in the Secretariat and with partners in Denmark and abroad.

Tasks as a coordinator

Your most important tasks will be:

  • Plan, coordinate and execute on-site and online educational and networking activities.
  • Coordinate DDEA’s annual call for applications for event grants
  • Coordinate and execute the awarding of DDEA's three annual awards
  • Assist in specific aspects of the annual call for applications for DDEA grants and other DDEA grant-related tasks
The position will involve national travel activity corresponding to approx. 1-2 days per month, as you will also host and facilitate events in connection with the implementation of DDEA's educational and networking activities.

Professional qualifications as a coordinator

We are looking for a profile with the following background and competencies:

  • Relevant education within life or medical sciences, event management, or similar
  • Demonstrated experience and success with planning, coordinating, hosting and facilitating large and small educational and networking events, including online events.
  • Experience with administrative tasks
  • Strong professional English language skills, both oral and written, and the ability to express yourself clearly and professionally
  • Solid skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and electronic administrative and project management systems.
In addition, we expect you to:

  • Work proactively and in a structured manner
  • Deliver high-quality services and results regardless of the size of the task.
  • Work independently and take the lead on tasks when necessary, but also participate in team collaboration with colleagues in the Secretariat and with external partners.
  • Thrive in a dynamic and varied day-to-day work life, where you are both responsible for completing your own tasks working independently and that you follow to the end, but also for assisting your colleagues.
  • Be service-minded.

Place of employment, salary and employment conditions

You will be employed in a maternity cover position at Odense University Hospital with reference to the Managing Director of DDEA.

  • Employment period February 19, 2026 - December 31, 2026.
Remuneration is based on collective agreement contract terms in accordance with the applicable regional collective agreement, with the possibility of negotiation based on individual qualifications.

Weekly working hours: 30 hours per week
