Do you want to learn and grow in a fast-paced tech company and gain relevant work experience in planning and executing the year's biggest event?

We are currently searching for a dedicated Student Event Coordinator to join our Event Team at Umbraco HQ in Odense for the period of 1st of February 2024 until the end of June 2024.

Purpose of the position

To help execute our biggest event of the year: Codegarden Week. Codegarden Week is a 4-day event filled with intriguing +30 speakers, 600+ awesome community attendees, and out-of-the-box entertainment - all taking place at Odense Harbour. More information on codegarden.umbraco.com

Your qualifications

  • have a take-charge attitude and are passionate about bringing people together
  • have good written and oral communication skills in English
  • are confident in juggling with different tasks at the same time and good at adapting to change
  • are a team player and want to contribute to a good working relationship
  • have a structured approach to tasks
  • It's an advantage if you have experience planning and executing events. Professionally or on a volunteer basic
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the events in progress and act quickly to resolve any problems or issues. E.g. making sure the venue/set-up is ready in a timely fashion, communicating with other staff, organizing suppliers, welcoming speakers and guests, etc.
  • Communication around logistics with vendors, co-organizers, guests, etc.
  • Social activities and entertainment planning around Codegarden Week
  • Assigning duties to the events’ staff/contributors (work schedule and logistics)
  • Administrative and logistical support (before, during and after the events, e.g. hotel bookings )
  • Decoration planning of the different venues
The team

You’ll be joining a team of three, collaborating closely with both internal and external stakeholders. Leading the team is Event Manager, Steffie Limère Fugl (linkedin.com/in/steffielimere/). With +8 years of experience in corporate and community events.

Practicalities

Place of work: Umbraco HQ in Odense most of the time leading up to and during Codegarden Week.

Working hours: 15-20 hours per week paid.

Starting date: 1st of February 2024 until end of June 2024.

Interview Process: We will assess the candidates in the start of January 2024 and start the interview process mid January 2024.
