About SDU Center for Energy Informatics
The SDU Center for Energy Informatics is an interdisciplinary research center at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) focused on developing intelligent IT-based energy systems for the efficient, flexible, and sustainable use of energy. Our mission is to apply advanced informatics research to address critical challenges in the energy sector, including energy production, consumption, and integration of renewable energy sources.
Position Overview
We are seeking talented and motivated Software Engineers to join our dynamic team. The successful candidates will contribute to the development of innovative software solutions in the energy informatics field. This includes designing, implementing, and testing software systems that model, monitor, and manage energy data and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement software solutions for energy management systems, data analytics, and simulation models.
- Collaborate with researchers and industry partners to define project requirements and deliver research-based software solutions.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Contribute to the dissemination of research findings through scientific publications and presentations.
- Stay abreast of the latest technologies and methodologies in software engineering and energy informatics.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Software Engineering.
- Strong programming skills in more languages (e.g., Java, C#, C++, Python).
- Experience with software development tools and methodologies (e.g., Git, Agile/Scrum).
- Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools is a plus.
- Interest or experience in the energy sector, renewable energy systems, or sustainability is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong commitment to research excellence.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Employment shall take place in accordance with the framework agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
