The Dean's Office at the Faculty of Science at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) is seeking a skilled Lawyer to join our External Relations Team. This role is essential for supporting our researchers in navigating the legal aspects of their research projects and assisting with legal matters in the workplace, as well as future hirings.

Job Description:
As a Lawyer in our Research Support Office, you will provide critical legal support to researchers at the Faculty of Science. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, assisting with contract negotiations, and providing legal advice on various aspects of research projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with faculty and staff to develop and transform research ideas into compliant projects.
- Provide legal support in building networks and research consortia.
- Offer legal advice to support innovation and research commercialization initiatives.
- Identify potential legal risks and opportunities in new funding and grant proposals.
- Draft, review, and negotiate research-related contracts and agreements.
- Administrative tasks and support the onboarding of new staff.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in research and higher education.
- Assist with office tasks in the External Relations Team such as legal aspects of costing projects, maintaining web-content providing leadership support.
Your Profile:
- You have a relevant academic degree in Law, preferably with experience in research support or a related field.
- You are enthusiastic, a team player, supportive, and highly flexible to meet the variety of work.
- Experience with EU research projects and/or Danish foundation bids will be considered an advantage.
- A know-how on fostering innovation will be a plus.
- You work independently and can manage and prioritize your own time.
As you will be communicating with English and Danish speaking employees as well as read documents in the two languages, it is imperative that you are competent in both.

The External Relations Team is part of the Dean's office with around 40 colleagues, including study-administration, communication, and accounting teams. The Faculty of Science consists of four departments: Biology; Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; Mathematics and Computer Science; and Physics, Chemistry, and Pharmacy. The faculty hosts 500 employees and 2000 students.
