Your contribution
As a Service Automation Engineer at Jorgensen Engineering, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the exceptional standard of customer care that the company is known for, specifically in the realm of automation and PLC systems, and robot programming. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of our customers' sophisticated packaging and handling systems, directly influencing their satisfaction and loyalty to our products and services.

Your key responsibilities:

Customer Support & Service

  • Provide expert technical support for customers facing issues with PLC systems (Siemens and Rockwell) and robot programming.
  • Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve issues to minimize downtime for clients.
  • Participate in the service hotline, offering immediate assistance and expert advice.

On-site Visits

  • Conduct regular customer visits for preventative maintenance and on-the-spot repairs or adjustments on automation equipment.
  • Assess systems for potential improvements and communicate findings to relevant departments.

Automation Expertise

  • Maintain a broad understanding of various automation systems, with a focus on Siemens and Rockwell PLCs and robot programming.
  • Adapt to unique configurations in client setups, demonstrating problem-solving skills for systems of varying complexity.

Training & Documentation

  • Assist in preparing and delivering customer training sessions.
  • Create detailed service reports, documenting issues resolved and recommending further actions.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the Customer Care department and cross-functional teams to relay feedback and insights gained from customer interactions.
  • Ensure effective communication with clients, keeping them informed of progress and ensuring satisfaction with the service provided.

Sales and Business Development

  • Develop a sales mindset, identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling Jorgensen Engineering's services and products during customer interactions.

Emergency Response

  • Be available for emergency service calls, providing fast and effective solutions.

Your Profile and Qualifications

You are characterized by a high level of energy, talent, and a comfort with a fast-paced environment that focuses on efficient execution and achieving sharp deadlines. You are proactive and capable of working both independently and in teams. Furthermore, you are goal-oriented with the perseverance required to ensure the completion of both technical and administrative tasks.

You should be able to tick most of the following boxes:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in a similar role, with specific expertise in Siemens and Rockwell automation systems, including robot programming.
  • Strong knowledge of automation aspects of packaging and handling systems, ideally similar to those offered by Jorgensen Engineering.
  • Certification or formal training with Siemens and/or Rockwell PLCs is highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service mindset with a sales-oriented approach.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced situations.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site customer support.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
