The eScience Center at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) develops and operates large-scale IT infrastructure dedicated to research in all fields. The center is a leading national provider of supercomputing resources and facilities, often provided in close collaboration with other Danish universities.
Our mission is to support research via the development of advanced IT infrastructure and by providing support and expertise to researchers. The key areas of the center are High Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud Services, Data Analytics and Data Management Services. We assist a large research community, educational and government institutions, as well as commercial companies. The center has developed a user-friendly and advanced private cloud system called UCloud, which is the core of the DeiC national system for interactive HPC and cloud computing.
We address stimulating new technological challenges. The SDU eScience Center offers a research-like environment where we encourage the study of innovative solutions and personal growth. We firmly believe in open-source and web technology as means to reach our goals.
We are currently looking to fill a junior position within the infrastructure team. We are looking for candidates with experience in Linux systems administration and a strong desire and ability to learn. The successful candidate will work closely with the current senior systems administrator, who has a long-time expertise in scientific research, programming, and Linux systems administration.
While this position does offer flexibility and the possibility of remote work, the candidate is expected to be on-site in Odense.

Other relevant qualifications (not required):
- MSc or PhD in a relevant field of science or engineering.
- Experience with DevOps practices (e.g. git and GitHub, continuous integration and deployment, software documentation).
Condition of Employment
