We are looking for a motivated “Project Manager and Proposal Writer” to assist the Project Coordinator of our large research projects and writing of future funding bids.
Job description:
As part of the External Relations Team of the Faculty of Science, SDU you will work as project manager and proposal writer.
As Project Manager you will be responsible for facilitating administrative implementation in the recently funded Horizon Europe Coordinator Project TACsy (Training Alliance for Computational systems chemistry), the NNF project MATOMIC (Mathematical Modelling for Microbial Community Induced Metabolic Diseases) and the EU project AlgaeProBANOS. Your main activities include:
- Implement and take responsibility for the operational management of the projects & research
- Liaise with the project officers, SDU administrative staff, academic and industry partners
- Dissemination of project results and outcomes (incl website management, social media)
- Organize consortium wide events, training schools, and other requirements from funders
- Liaise and reporting to the NNF and EU Project Officers, including preparation of periodic and continuous scientific and financial reports
As proposal writer your main activities will be:
- Proposal writing, editing and commenting
- Develop application plans and strategies for individual researchers and groups
- Collection of knowledge and dissemination of funding opportunities
- Development of guides
- Active Participation in presenting and organizing information meetings and workshops
Your competences:
The ideal candidate will have project management experience (European or national). Experience with RIAs (research and Innovation actions), MSCA Doctoral Networks, and NNF projects is an advantage. Your experience will span from project funding, administration, coordination, and management of our projects.
- Experience in fundraising and research management in a university, consultancy, or other research institute
- Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills including ability to meet strict deadlines, prioritise and multi-task across a portfolio of projects (with minimal supervision).
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) including strong reporting and presentation skills.
- Impeccable attention to details and rigor, results-oriented, problem-solving attitude, flexibility and ability to take own initiatives.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and be an excellent communicator. Danish language skills are a plus.
Preferably you have an academic degree and experience in Danish and other European research institutions. You are enthusiastic, a team player, supportive and highly flexible to meet the variety of work. Due to the specificity of the projects and funding programmes, with strict application deadlines, and “last-minute projects” there are peak periods where you must be able and willing to work longer hours.

The External Relations Team is part of the Dean’s office with around 30 colleagues and study-administration, communication and finance teams. The science faculty consists of four Departments: Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Mathematics and Computer Science, and Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy. The faculty hosts 500 employees and 2000 students.

* Salary and employment conditions in relation to educational background and applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).
