The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Southern Denmark, Odense invites applications for one postdoctoral research fellowship in user-centred security. The hired candidate will be part of the section of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Programming Languages. The proposed starting date is March 2024, with room for flexibility. The appointment will be made for a term of two years at a competitive salary.
This position is tied to the “Cybersecurity & Business Continuity in Danish production SMEs” project which investigates ways to strengthen the resilience of the supply chains of Danish SMEs to cyber threats. To that end, the goal of this project is to enable Danish SMEs to conduct proper risk analyses of their supply chains regarding cybersecurity issues and set up appropriate mitigation strategies addressing these risks.
As part of the project, the successful candidate will be expected to also work closely with collaborators from SDU’s Department of Entrepreneurship and Relationship Management as well as SDU’s Centre for War.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for highly motivated candidates interested in the user-centred aspects of cybersecurity. The successful candidate will have to conduct qualitative studies (focus groups, interviews, etc.) with different actors in the Danish cybersecurity landscape, including those that make cybersecurity policy, those that promote cybersecurity policy, and those that have to implement cybersecurity policy.
The ideal candidate has a PhD in Computer Science or Social Sciences and experience in at least one of the following areas:
• Cybersecurity
• Qualitative and quantitative methods
• Supply chain security
• Design of user studies
• Usability of cyber systems.
Experience in conducting cybersecurity and/or qualitative user studies is a plus.
Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Danish is a plus.
