Background

The Autorola Group is currently expanding, and following an internal promotion to Head of Sales UK, we now seek a new leader for the INDICATA Development Academy.

INDICATA is part of the Autorola Group, which operates in 22 countries globally with 3 key business divisions.

  • Marketplace - A leading internet-based vehicle auction platform.
  • Solutions - A leading provider of fleet management software to the automotive and leasing industries.
  • INDICATA - A global leader in dealer stock management, pricing decision tools (B2B and B2C), fleet remarketing price optimisation, RV forecasting tools, and market reporting.

The INDICATA business is due to grow significantly over the next 3-5 years. This growth is driven by sound, effective products, sold and implemented by the BU Sales teams, who are supported by Customer Success Teams of the highest calibre. The Customer Success Teams are responsible for working with our dealer clients, ensuring regular strategy, and pricing consultancy with each user, reviewing their stock and pricing strategies, and implementation.

Role responsibilities

You will report to the Global Business Unit Director of INDICATA and work in close collaboration with the Development and Implementation Manager, Data Collection Manager, and Country Managers and Sales Directors of the Autorola subsidiaries worldwide.

INDICATA’s aim is to be the "thought leader" in its markets, which means all staff who interface with customers and prospects must have the best understanding of the industry segments we operate in (Dealer / OEM / Leasing / Rental), the products themselves, and the benefits they bring to our clients.

It is vital that the sales team follow a quality, structured method of selling where every sales member is highly trained, coached, assessed, and developed for success. Our customers must feel they are being engaged by staff who understand their industry, and we approach sales with a consultative mindset.

To achieve this, we have created the INDICATA Academy to ensure all staff have the highest levels of skills to deliver success. The role will initially focus on the Dealer and Dealer Group segments but will also develop our skills in the Fleet and Leasing segments. To do this, your key responsibilities will be:

  • To create and deliver product training to ensure all staff have full understanding of features and benefits of all INDICATA products.
  • To ensure that all sales staff can effectively demonstrate the product to customers and prospects.
  • To ensure that the Sales Team’s skills from prospecting through to negotiation and implementation are of the highest calibre and follow a consistent approach across all countries.
  • To ensure Customer Success Team can fully utilise the tools to advise customers on how they can optimise their stock or fleet using the latest thought process in a consistent way across all countries.
  • To build on the current Academy induction process where all new staff are fully trained and assessed as capable of selling INDICATA and then develop a programme of ongoing assessing coaching and training.
  • To develop and deliver "pure" used car management training to our sales teams to ensure those who come from a non-automotive or an automotive (but not used car) background gain an appreciation of the segment and the real world challenges our customers face.
  • To lead the weekly inspiration and prospecting sessions (for all Business units) where we bring the global teams together to be inspired by sales success and understand how we can integrate sales successes by combining approaches and products from other business units and ensure all staff have a dedicated time to prospect.
  • To work closely with our Development and Implementation Manager in ensuring all products have the appropriate (high quality) launch, training, sales, and customer documentation (i.e., presenter packs, customer literature).

Your qualifications

Your personality and mindset are crucial. You should bring a positive attitude and a strong drive. As a person, you are highly empathic, making sure that staff feel positive and motivated when engaged with.

To excel in the role, we imagine that you possess the following qualifications:

  • Sound understanding of dealer used car businesses and management principles used to optimise performance (sales management, stock and pricing management, vehicle preparation, sourcing). Ideally this will be gained through actual experience in dealer operations or OEM used car management field team background).
  • Demonstrable experience at developing and delivering high-quality sales training in the automotive sector utilising a structured approach.
  • Demonstrable experience in assessing and coaching sales teams to the highest levels of sales and product skills.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English at a professional level.

Besides this, it is desirable if you have:

  • Experience of training staff where English is not a native language. Although the training will be in English, proficiency in spoken and written German or other languages, such as Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese, is highly advantageous.
  • High-level PowerPoint skills with the ability to develop both sales training and customer facing product material.
  • Understanding of and empathy for used car business in different countries.
  • Experience in fleet management (Residual Values and / or remarketing).

We offer

You will be a part of an international company structure with subsidiaries in 19 different countries. You will get the opportunity to work for a fast-growing company that works with some of the strongest brands in the world within the auto industry. We are an established company with a strong entrepreneurial spirit that is characterised by an informal and easy-going communicative culture. We have a strong focus on human resources and emphasis professional and personal development based on individual needs and desires.

Autorola is founded upon its core values, the three R’s: Results-oriented, Responsibility, and Respect, that are to be considered in everything we do at Autorola.

Result: Produce results by adding value through everything you do. Honouring your part of the organisation’s mission and making a positive difference

Responsibility: Take responsibility by carrying your share of the load, having a positive attitude, and helping others to success – doing what is right. Mistakes cannot be avoided but should never be hidden.

Respect: Show respect for your co-workers, your customers, your organisation, and its resources, and yourself.

While it is desirable to be located in Odense, Denmark, location is less important vs recruiting the best person for the role. (The Business Unit Director works out of UK home base). Ongoing home and/or country office base anywhere in Europe will be fully acceptable. In the initial phase, the incumbent will need to be prepared to travel to meet country operations and understand their selling environment, with a small amount of international travel thereafter.
