The Faculty of Engineering (TEK) at the University of Southern Denmark wishes to develop and strengthen support for the faculty's academic environments in connection with industry collaboration, project generation and writing applications for external funding.
We are therefore looking for a committed and skilled colleague for the faculty's research support and innovation unit "TEK Innovation" with experience in project development and acquisition of research and innovation funds.
We facilitate, operate, and develop strategic initiatives in collaboration with management and the academic environments. We assist management and academic environments in creating and running externally funded research and innovation projects, building bridges to the outside world through collaboration, and supporting the strategic development of the faculty. We are an international department with 18 employees, and we emphasize knowledge sharing and helping each other with tasks.
About the position

You will be part of an interdisciplinary team and will collaborate closely with researchers, external partners, and actors from the business community.
Your primary tasks will be to:
- Contribute to the strategic development of the faculty's collaboration with industry and other relevant stakeholders.
- Assist researchers in establishing a competitive consortium consisting of both national and international partners.
- Actively contribute to the writing and coordination of applications for external funding, including being primarily responsible for writing parts of the applications
- Assist researchers in preparing business plans, market analyses and value calculations in connection with collaborative projects.
We expect your educational background to be an engineer or a master's degree - possibly with a PhD within a relevant subject area. We emphasize:
- Solid experience with collaboration across research, education and companies
- Experience with research and innovation applications. Preferably to at least one of the following funds: Innovation Fund Denmark, Horizon Europe and/or European Defence Fund
- Experience with strategic consultancy and project management in relation to research projects and in-depth knowledge of research funding at university level
- A sharp pen and command of English at a high level, both written and oral, as well as insight into common IT tools
It is a great advantage if you have a personal network with key people in companies and knowledge institutions within the engineering field in Denmark and preferably internationally.
You are outreaching, opening doors and creating opportunities for collaboration for TEK's research environments. You are ready to meet researchers and external collaborators at eye level and have the desire and courage to enter into discussions at a highly qualified level and argue your case.
TEK Innovation is located in Odense and Sønderborg. Employment takes place in Odense, but limited travel between the two locations may be necessary in connection with specific tasks.
TEK Innovation at the Faculty of Technology
The Faculty of Engineering at SDU has 5 departments, approx. 600 employees and approx. 3,500 students, and is located in Odense and Sønderborg. Read more about the faculty here.
TEK Innovation is the faculty's research support and innovation unit. The Faculty of Engineering is located in architecturally exciting and modern environments in Odense and Sønderborg - with a strong international touch among both students and staff.
Salary and terms of employment
Employment takes place as a special consultant in accordance with the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC, Circular on Agreement for Academics in the State. Depending on qualifications, it will be possible to negotiate supplements.
